He continues to recover in hospital after surgery but has been told he will not regain the use of his right eye.

'I bear no malice towards the man who shot me but now wish to move on with my life,' said the father-of-two. 'My injuries are life-changing. It will require significant adjustments in the future in all aspects of my life.

Thanks Happysad..I was waiting to hear the full extent of PC Rathband's injuries. I heard a couple of days ago that he was assured he would continue to have a stable career within the Constabulary it was encouraging to hear this. I believe there is now also an internal investigation by the police complaints department regarding the events surrounding Moat shooting himself in the presence of several police officers.
PC Rathband agreed to issue a photograph of his injuries and indeed they are very graphic.

Thanks HS. I think the world needs to see how brave emergency service people et all are and at the end of the day what doing the job can end with life changing injuries.
Ward; I'm glad to hear his job is secure.
cheers Vera
