Bob Pittman
Robert Warren "Bob" Pittman (
born 28 December 1953), the
programmer who led the team that created MTV, has been
CEO of MTV Networks, AOL Networks, Six Flags Theme Parks, Quantum Media, Century 21 Real Estate and Time Warner Enterprises. He was also COO of America Online, Inc. and AOL Time Warner.He has also been a radio and TV programmer, marketer, media entrepreneur and investor who has had multiple careers in a number of consumer-focused industries.
In
2003 he bought the website Daily Candy for
$3.5 million and sold it in
2008 for
$125 million.
Pittman lost his right eye when horse kicked him in the face at a Thanksgiving family reunion at the age of six. He now wears a glass eye.
He holds a waiver from the FAA which allows him to fly planes despite the disability.
