Well, what do ya know. My 27th anniversary (sight loss) came and went and I didn't even remember it. I really don't think about it much, until I hit my head on something I didn't see.
I guess I've adjusted. Now if I could only find my glasses when I need them.

Now we all know that Woodeye doesn't scratch his head when he's deep in thought :?

I lost my eye sometime very early in the AM of April Fool's Day. Hard to forget that date, even after 41 years

But to all you monocular noobs, it'll become second nature in time - the walking into door jambs, bumping into those on your blindside, pouring coffee on the table, forgetting that last riser in a flight of stairs and other fun things which peeps with two eyes don't have the pleasure of experiencing.

Life is good-the alternative isn't

I just had one of those tonight, Willis.

Throwing a tissue in the trash, and BAM! Forehead right into the door of the kitchen cupboard where we keep the drinking glasses. Which I had forgotten to close after restocking it with dry dishes :eekp:

Us one-eyed guys/gals could give a Phrenologist years of study. I couldn't count the number of knots on my noggin I've received over the years.

That picture made me crack up

Oh man I ram my poor skull into the kitchen cupboards on a weekly basis! And that's after I tell the boyfriend to remember to shut them. Hypocrisy at it's finest right here folks. I was also trying to figure out why my legs look like bruised bananas and have determined that it's because I run in to things....alot.

Funny story: someone at work asked me if I could see out of my new eye (yes, they were completely serious) I replied with no then they retorted with "well that would be cool if you could" I said "no it wouldn't. I don't know what I'd do with myself I'd be running into walls and walking in circles then I'd probably randomly fall flat on my face." I don't know anything other than one eye, I'm sure getting used to having one eye after having two forever is a majorly large challenge, but I couldn't imagine having two eyes after living with only one for 26 years. Yeah, I like my specialness, it makes me special afterall :D
