Hello,
Thanks for the forum! I spent quite a bit of time reading this site today.
I have been blind in my left eye by an accident since I was a baby. i am now 57 so there is life after losing an eye! My wife and I were going to go to the movies today. I just found this site while searching to see if the 3D movie would be more of an annoyance that a pleasure. I remember the old 3D glasses with the red and blue and how they never worked for me. I used to joke and move them back an forth really fast acting like I was trying to see 3D. Like some others mentioned I also folded them in half. We went to the movie today and while it did not look like 3D, it was not an annoyance either. As long as you have the 3D glasses on it hides the double vision.
Thanks
Guy

Glad you liked the site, Guy. Stick around and join in the conversations. Your intoe raises tow burning queries :? It's a long haul from the Midwest to the surf. Does your username relate to a board or a rod and reel? And what movie did you and your wife see? I've posted about my first experience with 3D here on LostEye. I won't go intpo detail, but the experience involved the movie "The Stewardesses", released right after I lost my eye, and a very disappointed young viewer. The downside to the new 3D technology is that us monos pay and don't benefit

Hello Guy and welcome to LE.

I am also in Ohio but unfortunately I never seen a 3D movie. I guess the good part is you can sit and laugh at all the people jumping in their seats and you don't have to pay the price for the glasses. I wish I would have had the experience of at least seeing one before losing my sight. I am also legally blind in my good eye so I am sure just a regular movie will be a challenge. I haven't tried to go since becoming legally blind in 2004. Maybe one day I will try. Glad you enjoy the site and you will be a good addition with all your experience. Stick around and jump in on some topics and help out the newbies get adjusted. Have a good day.
Take care.

Elaine
