Feeling nervous:
Last year had cornea transplant, vitrectomy, and stent implanted this was my 6th surgery and the worst by far. Of course it failed and now the chronic pain I have in my blind right eye has led me to MY FINAL surgery......eviceration.
The unknown is always a source of anxiety and worry. Will it be painful? How difficult will it be to return to work with an eye patch until I can be fitted w prosthesis?
Thanks to everyone for their posts and many things I have read have helped educate me and give me good questions to ask DR. and occularist.

Hi Kellie; Being nervous before surgery is normal, I know I sure was, in fact the week prior to surgery was much worse than the week following the surgery. Once its over you just feel better and better every day, finally you will be pain free and able to move on with your life. The list Willis spoke of is Wonderful..! Best of luck to you. Jill

Hi Kellie; you will be amazed how you feel after with no pain; you feel like a huge burden has been removed. I hope the op goes well and you are as painfree as possible. If not; ask for stronger meds. cheers vera

Hi Kellie,
Ditto to the above. Having been one of those with cornea pain (I took to refering to my eye as Cranky Eye) and a shrunking eye, my removal was a big blessing and let me get back to living my life again.

The first couple of days are a bit rough but by day 3-4 things got a lot better. I had my surgery on a Monday and Friday evening I was down at the local mall (my mother drove) to meet friends. I'm not saying I was turning cartwheels (actually I could never do a cartwheel  ) that evening but I did enjoy myself for a couple of hours.

Make sure you check out the link in Willis message for pre/post surgery tips.
The very wishes for an easy recovery.
Janelle
