Anyone have any experience or heard of James Strauss? (NY)

How about Roy McDonnell? (New Mexico)

I haven't heard of either of those two, but John Hadlock in Phoenix & Mesa Arizona is awesome. (He has two offices) He's the only one that all the eye doctors, surgeons, etc. would refer me to.

We have heard of, but have not used James Strauss yet. I say yet as my soon to be (tom. 1/20) 9 year old son had his right eye enucleated 2 weeks ago today and is scheduled to see Mr. Strauss in Rochester on 2/20 & 21. Mr. Strauss is highly thought of by our surgeons, as well as (and more importantly) by families we've contacted who have gone through this process. I'd love to hear from others who have used James Strauss as their Ocularist. Thank you.

I'll be meeting him in Southern California next week and will give my input. I have spoken to him on the phone but haven't met him as yet, my mother has met him and though him to be a really great guy.

I am only having a consult because I live in California and need someone on the west coast in case of immediate needs that could present. We'll see, maybe I'll like him enough to go to NY.

Seems like he has lots of years in this business and is very knowledgeable. He also provides other ocularists with many tools for eye making. After several conversations with him, I feel great confidence in his skill.

Jim Strauss has an outstanding reputation in Rochester. My husband, an ophthalmologist, refers patients to him and is always more than pleased with the result. He is a very capable and ethical individual.

That was my impression. I am eager to go to Rochester. Waiting for the snow to melt
